It was a pleasure to get a chance to wander around this exquisite building without anyone else around. I took the opportunity to take quite a few photographs showing off the fantastic, hexagonal design and the gratuitous use of béton brut.

When I was in primary school I’d go here for peoples’ birthdays as a big treat, they’d have a whole screen to themselves and we’d watch Babe or Madeline and spill popcorn all over the floor. It’s still operating today and a friend of mine is the projectionist, sitting through endless showings of Twilight and Skyfall.
